Self-Acceptance

The way you see yourself is distorted. This is a basic survival response as your perception of self-worth is bias and can end up being skewed.

Sadly, in this day of age we are trained to care about what others think of us. This comparison is heighted and made much easier with social media which can lead us to the feeling that we are not enough and will never measure up in society. This believe is caused by pressures of perfection, negativity bias, imposter syndrome, inner critic, external validation, and the comparison trap.

Imagine what our kids are thinking and going through. They could be questioning their self-worth or their inner critic getting in the way. This is tough. So how do we help and support them?

We need to teach our children to change their negative mindset into a positive one. They need to regain control of their thought patterns and understand who they are. They need to self-believe, self-accept, create an inner cheerleader, find a happy medium, and detect joy.

Higher Swing is here to connect you with local businesses in your area to find programs that promote kids’ mental health and wellness. For children to accept their authentic selves and to be proud of who they are!
