Mum, is Santa Clause real?

So, what do you do when you realise your child is getting too old to believe in Santa Clause? Are you afraid that another child will tell them the truth? And you won't be there.

How do you tell your child there is no Santa?

There are special kinds of magic which parents create for their children... and Santa is the magic of Christmas. Santa Clause is the excitement, the love, and the thought that goes into making Christmas magical for young children.

You can explain to your child that there is not one Santa Clause, but many... we are all Santa. The responsibility for making Christmas magic happen can be passed on to all those who are old enough to understand and to help.

So, while Santa isn't a 'real' person, he exists in that magic.

You can ask your child if they want to help create Christmas magic (... like move the elf!), especially if they have younger brothers or sisters.

As a parent, we are desperate for them to stay little for as long as possible. But a bigger part of you might know that your child is growing up to be sensible, thoughtful, and responsible too.
